Cedar Lake is a 99 acre residential lake and private community in Denville, NJ. The community’s governing body, the Cedar Lake Property Owners, have been maintaining its 320 acres of land since June 2, 1925. Today, over 350 families live in the Cedar Lake Community. The lake’s water is clean and is used for many recreational activities including swimming, fishing, ice skating, and non-motor boating. The lake has two sand beaches and a floating dock which are used by many members of the lake throughout the summer months.

Public Schools for Cedar Lake residents include Riverview School (Kindergarten-5), Valleyview Middle School (6-8) and Morris Hills High School (9-12).

Cedar Lake has lots of spirit and neighborhood involvement. The Cedar Lake Community Club is the social branch of this neighborhood. It includes the Cedar Lake Ladies Auxiliary, which hosts a number of events including the Halloween Party & Parade, the Easter Parade, yoga classes, activities night, weekly playgroups and the Back-to-School Breakfast. The Cedar Lake Community Club runs a clubhouse available to all members of the lake, which provides tennis courts and playground, organizes many community activities, and hosts a bar for the adults every Friday night. Cedar Lake is involved with a local athletic organization called Hub Lakes League, which includes eleven neighboring lake communities. Hub Lakes provides competition between the lakes in bowling, diving, golf, horseshoes, roller hockey, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. Cedar Lake residents can also walk to Gardner Field in Denville which features a wonderful playground along with tennis, basketball, baseball, and soccer fields.

Denville has a charming downtown with a variety of shops and restaurants. The Rockaway Townsquare is about 10 minutes away in Rockaway Township. The Shoppes at Union Hill are located on NJ Route 10.
