Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, commonly called Parsippany, is located in Morris County, NJ. The community has a total area of 25.4 square miles and has approximately 20,000 housing units. The name Parsippany comes from the Lenape Native American word Parsipanong, which means "the place where the river winds through the valley." The Township is the most populous municipality in Morris County with approximately 50,000 people. In 2006, Parsippany was recognized by Money Magazine, ranked 17th, as one of the “Best Places to Live” in the United States - the highest-ranked location in New Jersey!

The small village of Mount Tabor (07878) has its own post office, as does the community of Lake Hiawatha (07034). Housing developments and neighborhoods in Parsippany include Powder Mill, Skyview Heights, Mazdabrook Commons, and Glenmont Commons which all feature a combination of townhomes and single family homes. Other housing developments and neighborhoods include Hillcrest, Forge Pond, Druid Hill, Brooklawn, Upper Rickland, Park Forest, Puddingstone, Farmstead, Canterbury, Fox Hill, Normandy Village, Sunrise Estates, Sunnyside Estates, Southworth Manor, Fairhaven, Intervale Heights, Eastbrook, Hills of Troy, Fieldcrest, Glacier Hills, and Sedgefield.

Parsippany townhome and condo neighborhoods include Glenmont Commons, Powder Mill Village, Mazdabrook Commons, Skyview Heights, Four Seasons, Sterling Mist, Hunting Ridge, Brookstone Circle, The Atrium, The Mountain Club, Cedar Brook, Knoll Manor, Lincoln Gardens Condos, and Cambridge Village Condos.

The Parsippany Township Public Schools are made up of ten elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools.

With excellent access to the New York metropolitan area, Parsippany has become a major employment center for New Jersey. Parsippany lies at the crossroads of many major highways including Interstate 80, 280, and 287. U.S. Route 46 and NJ Route 10 travel through the municipality. The Mount Tabor Train Station in Parsippany is located on the NJ Transit Morristown Line with direct service to Hoboken or NY Penn Station. Passengers who take the Hoboken train can switch to the PATH to reach NYC. Passengers who take the Midtown Direct train will arrive at NY Penn Station in about 70 minutes. Lakeland Bus Lines provides service from Parsippany to NY Port Authority in Midtown NYC. During rush hour, the bus ride takes about 60 minutes.

U.S. Route 46 travels east-west through Parsippany and features miles of retail shopping outlets and restaurants.
